Transcripted credit courses are delivered at the high school by a high school teacher. All outcomes, competencies, grading policies, and software (if applicable) for the Western course must be followed. Once the course has been approved, a contract between Western and the high school will be developed. Students must enroll in and successfully complete the course in order to receive credit at Western.
Steps and teacher qualifications for developing a transcripted credit agreement:
- Identify Western course
- Must have a current DPI license in the appropriate content area
- Must hold current licensure required for certification for specific instructional areas
- Faculty teaching in general studies must hold a minimum of a master’s degree in the discipline, or a master’s degree in a related discipline with at least 18 graduate credits in the discipline
- Attend a curriculum-specific Transcripted Credit Workshop
- Complete a Western Certification Application
- Submit Unofficial Transcripts
- Transcripted credit certification is not transferable between teachers
- Attendance at a Transcripted Credit renewal meeting and completion of the continuation form is required for continuation each year
Transcripted credit courses are Western courses taught at your high school by your high school teacher. Once you enroll in and successfully complete the course, you will receive dual credit from your high school and Western. In fact, you will even have a Western student ID and transcript when you are done.
Transcripted Credit Agreements
Yearly agreements for all schools are listed by school year. Each document recognizes which high school courses were aligned for transcripted credit during that school year.
